Downloaded the trial... it appears I can't add an event

- put the Flex Events module on a page
- added a category
- added a location
- created billing options
- Clicked Add Event and used category and location I previously added
- Got the following error:
A critical error has occurred. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_FlexEvent_FlexLocation". The conflict occurred in database "xxxxxxxx", table "dbo.FlexLocation", column 'ItemId'. The statement has been terminated.

This is all in a dev env, which is dnn7.1.1. but this error isn't related to the dnn version.

I would love to use the module if it worked... Any insights would be appreciated

When I saw your post I guess it might be a bug, it seems Flex Events is trying to save a event without linking to a valid location, but after a few trial I found that I can't reproduce it.

I am curious what the problem is and really wish to fix it, is it possible that you can let me try it on your website? if it is on localhost environment, is it possible that you can test it on a internet website to see if you get same problem?

By the way, thank you very much for your report.

I am running into the same issue. I downloaded your trial from your website, installed it on a DNN 7.03.03 site and when trying to add an event, I get the same error. To troubleshoot, I disabled the FK constraint in the DB and the event gets added with a <null> location id even though one is selected from the dropdown.

This seems to be a big issue, but I still cannot reproduce it.

I made some change to the source code, which allowed Null value to by passed in as "LocationId", now it doesn't allow null values any more. can you please download the trial version, install it and try again? if it still doesn't work, can you check to see in HTML source to see if there is a valid integer value in the location drop down list on Add Event page? or you can just give me an account on your website so I can try it by myself.

thanks.

I was able to reproduce this problem with Tim's help, this bug has been fixed in Flex Events 1.1.2.

Thanks.

Thanks for digging into this and coming up with a fix, Pengtsen! The support you've provided is excellent and I look forward to using the FlexEvents module.
